After two months of coincidentally ending up at the same parties and events, we started dating. The year-long courtship was intense with the passing of my mother and Walter’s candidacy for Judge.
We decided to marry in January as it was a great way to start the year and a wonderful time to travel to Saint Barths for our honeymoon. Everyone deserves a second chance and we certainly feel that finding one another was our second chance of a lifetime.
The wedding ceremony was at Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Raleigh and the low key reception was at hosted by the bride’s godparents: Blanche & Zack Bacon, Stagg Sanders and Flo and Charlie Winston at the beautiful Winston Home on Chaucer Place in Raleigh. Close friends hosted a Friday night Clam Bake at the home of Pam & George Howard in Raleigh.
I wore my mother’s vintage satin gown with forget-me-not appliqués. After a tough year with the passing of my mother, the Rands made me feel welcome from day one. Seeing them all together at the wedding was very touching.
