Doing One Thing Well
Although a "gift basket" is probably the guest gift brides
ask for most often, its also one of the most expensive to create. Usually, investing
in a collection of small items to fill a container is more expensive than giving one
gift that seems more indulgent. When brides don't have a lot of money to spend but
want big style in their guest room gifts, I advise focusing on giving just one item,
but doing it well or cleverly.
For example, a bride is having a destination
wedding in Charleston, SC so all of her wedding party, family and
friends are traveling. She wants to thank them in a truly special
way. She designed an "Lemonade Kit" around a lovely glass pitcher that all her guests
can keep. The pitchers were just $15 dollars from Crate and Barrel. And filled with fresh
lemons, raw sugar, a wooden spoon, and a recipe/note from the couple, it's a unique and
inexpensive expression of thanks. |
