From the main house's wrap-around porch, guests have an unobstructed view of the farm's one acre pond featuring a dock, on which many weddings take place.  The grounds are beautifully landscaped with plantings and vintage farm equipment that Doug has restored.

Also visible from the porch is the propery's main reception site: a heated and air conditioned barn and attached open pavilion, which together comprise 4,900 square feet, enough to accomodate nearly 200 guests for a sit-down dinner.  The barn is appointed throughout with family antiques, including a spinning wheel, rocking horse, bicycle and milking stool.  Vintage tin sign advertising everything from Teaxco Gasoline to Maxwell House Coffee hang on the walls and french flower buckets serve as ideal holders for bridesmaid's bouquets.  The barn's columns and doorways are wrapped in white bunting, illuminated from within by small white lights.

The pavilion which measures 48-by-48 feet, features flowing white curtains and hundreds of white twinkle lights.  An almost constant breeze rises up from the pond circulated by ceiling fans throughout the space.  Recently installed vinyl curtains surround the pavilion which can be closed in cold weather.  Shady Wagon Farm has the ability to host weddings both casual and formal, each elegant in their own way.
